Decoupage Wine Bottles
Decoupage Wine Bottles

Decorated wine bottles are all over DIY blogs, Pinterest and Etsy. Well, here is one more way to upcycle your empty wine bottles. Decoupage them with cut out paper, glue and paint. These easy to make decoupage wine bottles can be used as vases, candle holders or just simple decorations on mantles or dining tables. They look great grouped together in various shapes and sizes.

Elegant Cupcake/Dessert Stand

All items necessary to complete this project can be purchased at your local dollar store. I bought everything at Dollar Tree. All you need is a pie pan, pizza pan, pots, mardi gras beads, paint and heavy duty glue. The stands can be staked or used individually to serve cupcakes, cookies or appetizers. Since you cannot put food directly onto the painted surface you may want to use the stand as a centerpiece and decorate is seasonally.

Project Cost - $5.00 and up (depending on your on hand materials).

Shabby Chic Mail Organizer

Even though the amount of mail people receive has been reduced by going paperless, most will agree that we still get a lot of it. And, most of us scatter it all over the place. I went on a cleaning spree and threw out everything that was useless. I also decided that I would keep my mail organized and created this large shabby chic mail organizer. So far so good, hopefully it will stay that way.

Project Cost - $3.00 and up (depending on your on hand materials).

Construction Paper Gift Wrapping Ideas

You’ll notice that I use dollar store items for most of my projects. When it comes to gift wrapping, there is no exception. I always shopped at dollar stores for gift wraps, I see no point is spending $4.00 on wrapping paper when you can spend $1.00. Its all going to get torn up and thrown away. Right? So construction paper is great to use for small gifts like jewelry, watches or small electronics. Each colored sheet is a blank canvas waiting for your creativity. You can personalize your gifts and the possibilities are endless.

Project Cost - $1.00 and up (depending on your on hand materials).

Rusted Sunflower Candle Holder

So I’ve been going to flea markets a lot this year and I noticed that the older, dirtier and rustier the item was, the more money the vendors wanted. I was a little perplexed. Am I missing out on a trend? And, then I saw Sabrina Soto replicate these high end rusty candle holders that cost hundreds of dollars. Hundreds of dollars for rust? I had to try it and off to Michael’s I went. 40% OFF coupon in hand, of course.      `
